How to Use the Future Continuous

We use the future continuous to:

1. Talk about actions happening at a specific future time.

For example: This time tomorrow, I’ll be lying on a beach.

2. Talk about interrupted actions in the future.

For example: I’ll be cooking dinner, when he arrives.

3. Emphasise duration.

For example: I’ll be working all day.

4. Talk about future arrangements (similar to present continuous)

For example: I’ll be meeting John tomorrow.
