How to Use the Present Simple:
We use the present simple:
1. To talk about habits and routines.
For example: I go swimming every weekend.
2. To talk about general truths and facts.
For example: Water boils at 100 degrees.
3. To talk about scheduled events in the future – usually transport timetables.
For example: My train leaves at four.
4. With verbs that cannot be used in the continuous.
For example: Verbs connected with: thought processes (know), desires (like), senses (smell). I believe that nothing lasts forever.
