Compound Forms with Some, Any and No follow the same rules as: some, any and no.
We use any in questions and negative sentences.
For example: Do you have any coffee? I don’t have any coffee.
We use some in positive sentences.
For example: I have some coffee.
We can also use some in questions when we expect the answer to be yes.
For example: Do you want some coffee? Yes, please.
We can also form negative sentences with: no.
For example: I don’t have any coffee.
For example: I have no coffee.
These compound forms are explained in the tables below.
Something, Anything, Nothing

Questions - When we expect the answer to be yes | Something | Do you want something to do? |
ANY can also be used in positive statements to mean 'no matter which', 'no matter who', 'no matter what':
“You can borrow any of my books.”
“They can choose anything from the menu.”
“You may invite anybody to dinner, I don't mind who comes.”
Someone/body, Anyone/body, Noone/body

Questions - When we expect the answer to be yes | Someone | Do you know someone here? |
Somewhere, Anywhere, Nowhere
Questions | Anywhere | Is there a cinema anywhere near here? |
Positive sentences | Somewhere | I have somewhere to go. |
Negative sentences |
Anywhere Nowhere |
There’s nowhere to go. There isn’t anywhere to go. |
