Had not is contracted to hadn’t.
Yes/No Question | Had he been calling her? |
Short Answers | Yes, he/she/it had. No, he/she/it hadn’t. |
Question word question | Who had he been calling? |
Positive Sentence | He/she/it had been calling her. |
Negative Sentence | He/she/it hadn’t been calling her. |
